At Lush Brush Co., we believe you should know exactly what’s going on your tools (and eventually, your skin). That’s why we keep things clean, transparent, and easy to understand. Below is a breakdown of what’s inside our formula and what each ingredient actually does.

Because clean brushes start with clean ingredients.

  • Polyvinyl Alcohol

A water-soluble film former that helps our cleaning sheets dissolve cleanly in water.

  • Sodium Lauroyl Isethionate

A gentle, sulfate-free surfactant derived from coconut oil. Lathers lightly to lift away makeup and grime.

  • Water (Aqua)

The universal solvent. Used to help balance and activate the formula once dissolved.

  • Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate

Another mild, coconut-derived cleanser that helps remove oil, dirt, and product buildup without drying bristles.

  • Kaolin

A soft, natural clay that gently absorbs impurities—bonus points for being brush-friendly.

  • Sodium Citrate

Helps balance the pH of the formula to keep things gentle and effective.

  • Laureth-4

A cleansing and emulsifying agent that helps mix oil and water for thorough cleaning.

  • C12-14 Sec-Pareth

An emulsifier and surfactant that aids in dissolving oily residue.

  • Cocamidopropyl Betaine

A coconut-derived foaming agent that’s gentle and helps break down residue.

  • Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate

A mild, biodegradable cleanser that adds softness and helps the product rinse clean.

  • Lauryl Glucoside

A plant-based surfactant that enhances mildness and helps lift grime from brushes.

  • PEG-12 Dimethicone

A water-soluble silicone that conditions bristles and helps prevent them from feeling dry or stiff after cleaning.

  • Saponins

Naturally occurring compounds (often from plants like soapwort) that have natural cleansing properties.

  • Tea Tree Oil

A plant extract known for its purifying properties. Just enough to freshen, not overpower.

  • Camellia Extract

A botanical rich in antioxidants—adds a subtle softening and conditioning benefit.

  • Citric Acid

Used to balance pH and maintain formula stability.

  • Protease & Cellulase

Enzymes that help break down residual grime—like leftover foundation, creams, and oils.
