The Steps

Step 1: Drop
Tear one Lush Brush sheet and drop it into a glass of warm water (about 200–300ml). Let it dissolve fully—it only takes a moment.

Step 2: Dip & Bounce
Dip your makeup brush into the solution and gently bounce it up and down. You’ll see the makeup begin to lift within 30 seconds.

Step 3: Rinse & Dry
Rinse your brush under warm or cool water until it runs clear, then leave to air dry with the bristles pointing downward.

How Much to Use?

Each Lush Brush sheet is pre-measured for a standard clean. But how dirty your brush is matters—foundation brushes or brushes that haven’t seen a clean in weeks might need two rounds.

For smaller brushes (think eyeshadow or fan brushes), one sheet can go a long way. You can even clean multiple brushes in one solution if the water stays mostly clear.

The Right Water Temperature

Use warm—not hot—water. Aim for bath-temperature: warm to the touch, but never scalding.

Boiling water may break down glue or damage delicate bristles, especially in synthetic brushes. We want your brushes fresh and full—not shedding or melting.

Why Did My Water Turn Iced Latte Brown?

That means your brush was really due for a clean (no judgment—we’ve all been there). If your water turns dark quickly, it’s time for round two.

Your solution can only lift and bind to so much makeup. Once it looks more like chocolate milk than pearly cleanser, swap it out and repeat.

Tip: If your second dip leaves the water mostly clear, you can reuse it for your next brush!

The Bounce Method

Bouncing your brush helps the cleanser reach deep into the base of the bristles—where the real grime hides. Stirring only hits the surface, and soaking alone won’t do much.

Bouncing helps loosen stubborn product buildup and bacteria lurking deep in the fibres. Give your brush the bounce it deserves.

Don't Forget to Rinse Thoroughly

It’s normal for your brush to feel smooth post-clean—our formula is designed to treat your tools kindly. But make sure you rinse until the water runs clear and the brush feels clean (not slippery or sudsy). Especially important for sensitive skin!

Air Dry Over Heat Dry

Lay your freshly cleaned brushes flat on a clean towel to air dry naturally. Avoid hair dryers or hot air - they can damage bristles and loosen the glue at the base.

If you’re in a rush, use your hair dryer’s cool setting from a distance.

Want to stay consistent? Pick one night a week - like tan night - and make it your brush-cleaning ritual. Clean skin, clean brushes, clean glow.
